SAT

Your SAT score is exceptionally important.  It’s probably the second most important factor in getting you recruited (GPA being the first).

There are no tricks to getting a high score on the SAT or ACT.  However, if you really want to do your best, it is recommended that you take a prep course.  These courses will often increase your overall score by several hundred points, and that can mean the difference between you getting recruited or not.

Example:  You get a 1000 on the SAT.  You then take the prep course and later score a 1250 on the SAT.  If you have over a 1200, many Ivy League schools, which are D1 football programs, will the look at you to play football for their school if you meet their other criteria (talent, ability, character…).

If you want to be “recruitable” by almost 100% of D1 colleges then get a 3.5 or above GPA, 1200 or above SAT, and take 3 or more AP classes while in high school.

If you can get a 1200 or above on the SAT then that would be exceptionally helpful.  However, please understand and get familiar with what the NCAA Sliding Scale is as it will help you along your way if you are unable to get a high SAT score.  You can find that information under “Important Links”
